NAMI-NYC helps families and individuals affected by mental illness build better lives through education, support, and advocacy. We believe everyone deserves help dealing with mental illness. Every day, our trained volunteers - who all have lived experience with mental illness, either with a family member, or in themselves - teach classes, lead support groups, and give people a voice in the conversation. Because 1 in 5 will have a mental illness in their life, and the other 4 are their family and friends - no one should deal with that alone.
